08 Feb Winter Installation is Good for the Garden
Our teams keeps working through the snow
Snow is blanketing lots of the country right now, but a bit of freezing weather doesn’t stop the Rosewood team! We’re still working even in the snow. Our picture is from a current installation in Newgate Street, near Hatfield, where we’ve been putting an irrigation system in the garden. It seems a good time to explain the reasons why winter installation is a good idea.
Why winter?
Although it’s not necessarily the most comfortable time for the team, it’s the ideal time for the garden. Between November and March, or thereabouts, growth is dormant, so any disturbance to established planting is minimal. If you want to understand more about this period in a plant’s life cycle, there’s some interesting information here: Winter Dormancy
The other benefit of a winter installation is that it avoids our busiest period in spring/summer, when we get a rush of customers who have suddenly become aware that their gardens are already drying out. Unfortunately some customers then have to wait longer for an available installation slot that suits them. If you think ahead and approach us for a cold-weather install, it’s likely that you won’t have to wait.
So, if you’ve ever thought about an irrigation system for your garden, why not call Rosewood now to discuss your requirements with our friendly office staff? Ring us on 01727 811448 and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.
