31 Jul Irrigation fights summer heat
We’ve had some very wet weather over the last couple of months, but summer is here at last! It means we can finally enjoy time outside in our gardens. However, as soon as we have a couple of days in a row without rainfall, our plants start to suffer. If it’s cool, those rain-free days don’t make such an impact, but in hotter weather, the soil dries out much faster. This means that we have to water plants regularly to ensure they don’t wilt or even die. The good news is that our irrigation fights summer heat by ensuring regular application of water where plants need it. And you don’t need to lift a finger!
Summer’s bright light makes us feel great and brings out all the colour of the garden – take a look at the blue sky and green grass in our picture! However, hotter weather increases water requirements for your plants, just as it does for us. And the increased heat means that soil dries out more quickly, especially in containers. The combination of lower rainfall and increased need for water can have a really detrimental effect on gardens. But we’re here to help!
The client’s garden in our photo is thriving thanks to the Rosewood irrigation system we’ve installed for them. We tailor our system designs to reflect the location and planting for each customer. Each system will include multiple zones so that different plants get different amounts of water at different times. We make sure our systems meet each plant’s requirements. So for example a lawn will be watered in a different way to a shrubbery border or a specimen tree.
But whatever the differing requirements of each individual plant, all will have increased water needs during hot spells. Would you rather water manually, devoting possibly hours each day to ensuring your garden stays healthy? Or use a Rosewood irrigation system, where you can programme the right quantities and frequencies, and leave the system to water automatically? If it’s the latter, get in touch and find out more!
